Energy drinks have side effects

Energy drinks have side effects

Energy drinks trigger side effects like heart problems and seizures in half of the kids, on a survey, it shows that more than 2,000 young people aged 12-24 years drink energy drinks and more than half of them who had caffeinated energy drinks reported at least one side effect after drinking them. however, the most common side effects were related to the stimulant of caffeine-rich energy drinks, such as a fast heartbeat and difficulties to sleep.

we cant be sure these seizures were linked to the energy drinks because it is only 1 in 500 children who drank these drinks had issues. Energy drinks contain caffeine and other stimulants that could affect health and they are high in sugar and calories.
Many of the effect associated with caffeine is normally short terms such as a headache or sleeping. however, consuming too much caffeine can have serious adverse effects such as vomiting, seizures, heart rhythm problem and even death.

In conclusion, energy drinks have been growing particularly among young people as the drink become more popular, it is difficult to disentangle the effect of energy drinks compared to alcohol. The side effect of caffeine is not relevant but we have to know in some energy drinks there is lack of nutritional value and it can be considered a healthy option.
